Dear Participants of the DGS Congress,
Fraudulent contact attempts by purported travel and hotel agencies are currently occurring in connection with international conferences. Participants may, for example, be contacted by email or telephone and offered hotel rooms, travel arrangements or special rates in connection with a conference.
We currently have no information indicating that participants in our congress have already been contacted. Nevertheless, as a precaution, we would like to draw your attention to this known scam.
In this context, the name ›Converia Travels‹ is also being used. Converia Travels is in no way affiliated with the Converia conference software used for the congress in Mainz. We therefore recommend that you exercise particular caution when receiving unsolicited offers or communications.
Please note:
- Book hotel accommodation and travel arrangements yourself and only through providers of your choice.
- Do not provide personal data, credit card details or payment information in response to unsolicited requests.
- Do not make payments in response to an unexpected email or telephone call.
- Do not open links in suspicious messages.
- If you are unsure whether a communication actually originates from the congress organisers, please contact the Mainz congress team directly using the congress’s official contact details.
Please note: Being contacted by ›Converia Travels‹ or any other travel agency does not mean that the agency is acting on behalf of the DGS Congress.
With this notice, we simply wish to raise awareness as a precaution and help ensure that your personal data and payments remain protected.
